Nancy S. Karlebach is a retired special education instructor who continues to teach on a part-time basis. She began her career in New York City public schools working with the physically challenged, followed by a resource room position in Bridgehampton, New York which involved teaching students with learning disabilities. She is a life-long environmentalist and headed up her school’s Earth Day, Recycling and Environmental programs. As part of HIBISCUS, Nancy’s focus is to contribute to environmentally sustainable projects in Haiti including reforestation efforts and the issue of climate change. She lives in East Hampton, New York with her husband, Craig, who is also a supporter of HIBISCUS, and has two adult children who reside in New York City.
